Re: Food Banks
...but at least the debate has now been shifted away from food banks themselves, so if a mod could just change the title of the tread, and delete all references to FOOD BANKS in the posts, we can declare a winner.

Debating 101.

Re: Food Banks
Being slippery and being a coward is two different things . Comma has the art of slippery down to a fine art.

Just saying bigot/racist or the childish 'let it go' instead of having the courage of your convictions to give a straight answer is very cowardly.

I can imaging him sitting in a bedsit somewhere reading this and thinking 'yea , I've wound them up' I win'

Loneliness does that to you.

Re: Food Banks
Jesus Ray! You are more slippery that a Chakrabarti writing a while wash paper whilst oiling up a misspoken Abbott with different hair for a three way oil wrestling match with Corbyn whilst slurping champagne and laughing as the working / unworking classes who keep them in luxury.

Re: Food Banks
joe, really dude, you seem to know more about me than is necessary, do you have some sort of obsession? I find it a bit creepy that you Whomail me like you’re doing me a favour then slag me off because it turned out that I drove puddle jumpers instead of being a proper hairy arseholed lorry driver, I really can’t see what you’re so upset about.....

Johnson 5:19 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
I’m not trying to counter your argument ray, as you don’t have one. You’ve not even attempted to counter any of the points raised by Nicey as you’re too thick and deluded to do so.

I’m not going to bother repeating his poinst so I’ll just save everyone time by calling you out for the fucking idiot you are.

joe royal 5:19 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
Nothing to let go , you are just hot air and full of shit. Sort of idiot that says sonthing and has nothing to back it up.

Suppose that's why your greatest achevment is failing so much you are bitter and hate everyone .

Explaines why you are a glorified taxi driver. Only need a driving licence and be over 25.

You would gain a bit of credibility if you answered a point put to you but just ignoring everything and saying let it go just confirms what a loser you are .

Suppose failed DJ's and taxi drivers don't really need to talk much.

Re: Food Banks
joe, you’ve really got it bad mate, let it go.

Re: Food Banks
Ray reminds me of the kids at school that would swear/pinch or punch you then spend the rest of the break standing next to the teacher .

I don't think he has ever answered a question or suggested an alternative .

Mind you he described himself as a lorry driver once and I who mailed him that I was leaving my job and if he wanted a go at driving abroad and doing what I do I would sort it for him

I'm nice like that , help fellow hammers first.

Then he drops the bombshell that he has never taken a HGV test.

Four universities in Liverpool, dicksie mate. FOUR.

The areas around the stadia are pretty much beyond help though.

Re: Food Banks
I’m not a corbynista so i wouldn’t dream to tell you what to think nor oppress you should your thoughts be different than mine.

However, I would advise having a deeper look at this, what appears to be a modern and topical issue. You will see it isn’t and you will see Labour’s part in this is shameful.

Re: Food Banks
Nicey, not thick enough so as not to rattle your cage.

Nicey 4:50 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
RAY I’ll tell you what is thick - thinking it is clever to completely ignore the points raised and believing that nobody notices you are deliberately ignoring it.

What would be bright would be being able to think independently from the party line and actually address the very valid points I have made. Not only bright but it would show integrity too, something lacking in the McDonnell / Corbyn / Abbott threeway

Go for it

I love it when your only argument is to call me thick, kind of a juxtaposition that.

Re: Food Banks
Having a brain and working hard will get oneself out of poverty.

These qualities are lacking severely in Merseyside hence the huge levels of poverty.

It's as simple as that. I'm sure some fucking bleeding heart liberal on here will try to have a pop at me but they know I'm right.

Still, it's sad though. I don't want to see anyone starve to death - especially the children who are in this mess of no fault of their own - and I think that food banks are an absolutely brilliant initiative.

Mike Oxsaw 4:34 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
Maybe food that is thrown away by shops is deemed normal operational cost and not tax deductible, but food donated to a food-bank is deemed as a tax deductible loss at full resale value, therefore businesses actually benefit over and above the brownie point factor by donating food.

Could that be the (only) reason Labour refused to direct those it claimed to want to help towards the help that was available?

Genuine question. What sort of "help" are you calling for, and for whom?

Johnson 4:23 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
A lot of the left are self-serving, a lot of those who support the left - like ray - are thick as fucking shit which lets the self-serving dupe the morons into blindly backing them.

As is shown on this thread.

Nicey 4:19 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
Define ‘help’ when you say they refuse to help in any way

Have all benefits been stopped?

Tell me why labour refused to help in that way at all? There was a need so why ban referring people?

A lot of facts about the situation have gone by the wayside in his infantile political landscape we now find ourselves in.. see also Grenfell

northbankboy68 4:12 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
Why don't the Tories publish a guide to the best food banks since they refuse to help any other way?

Mike Oxsaw 1:55 Tue Dec 26
Re: Food Banks
ray winstone 10:49 Tue Dec 26

ALL councils have an "emergency fund" that is/can be used to make up the shortfall between what a tenant received in "official" benefits, and what they need to pay in rent (and other costs, like council tax, TV licence, running a car, school uniforms and food).

These payments are (allegedly) made on a "case-by-case", short-term basis after submitting an 8 (or so) page application form. They are then, in most cases, rolled over on the claimant simply stating they still need "emergency assistance".

I've never heard of such a claim being turned down, provided the form was completed correctly.

So to say benefits have been slashed under the current government is a bit (lot) of a red herring. They've simply been re-branded, and are now dealt with by a person sitting two desks down from where the original claims were dealt with.
